Kickstart and Recharge

Ohfff, I realised I haven't blogged in months. It's been a busy time. Let's get into the weeds of it.

Work

My day job as a programmer is evolving as AI becomes more of our coding workflow, using it to help plan, analyse, and write code, allowing us more creative freedom to think about the design and architecture of what we are making. It has taken a bit of a paradigm shift in my thinking, but I am getting there. It is not just vibe coding. It is much more involved than that. But using AI to help automate the boring work is a massive boon.

Freelance

Trashumanism is nearing the next phase as we ramp up work for the crowdfunding and the core book, as the quickstart is almost done. It's exciting times as we move into the next phase of the work on this new ip. https://gamefound.com/en/projects/le-destroy/trashumanism-ttrpg/updates/1

Meanwhile, another project born as a prelude to another is about to start funding. Sharing some of the same vibes as Trashumanism, Eath the Hive: Abattoir grew out of a throwaway idea. What if we did Eat the Reich but in a hive city. The team went to create it; I did some design and ideas while focusing on editing, and I brought in Hamilton from Theatre Macabre to do art and layout. In the end, it became the first Darker Days Radio publication.

It's a very anti-fascist, punching-up RPG. Grim Dark meets Leftist Revolutionary ideas. Go back it soon!

Speaking of the other project, it's gathering steam, gaining team members, and I'll have more to say about it soon.

Hobby

I didn't get to UKGE in the end. Which was a shame. But to make up for it I ran demo events at Outpost, Element Games Sheffield, and Peachcon 2026. It's been a lot of fun showing people how good Warmachine is as a game, the miniatures, and the P3 series of paints.

I finished my Skorne army finally! This army has a bit of history. I once owned the very same models, sold them, and then spotted them on eBay and bought them again!

I also got sent the Fane of Nyrro starter and warbeasts, which I combined with the Final Hunt.

I also painted the new super heavy warjacks. Bandit for the Gravediggers, and Constance Blaize and the Gallant.

Plus I bought and painted the Mastodon colossal for my Khador army.

Expect a lot more about Necromunda and the new edition soon!

Podcasting and Media

That's all for now!
